The LaSalle JZ2 is sporting a single venetian cutaway, together with a quilt maple hollow body, bound and arched select spruce top, and a mahogany set neck. Additional features are the rosewood fingerboard, gold Grover™ tuners, a gold jazz tail piece, and it comes shipped with both a rosewood jazz bridge as well as a gold adjustable bridge!
Shipping with two bridges is really a nice touch for a guitar in this price range. It means that if you want to use the LaSalle to play jazz then you will probably be more inclined to use the rosewood bridge. For a bluesy sound you are going to want to select the gold adjustable bridge. It’s a simple choice really.
This Greg Bennett LaSalle JZ2 really does capture the character and performance of the great archtops from days gone by and yet he has packaged it in a modern instrument – in other words all the wiring and soldering is perfect, the humbuckers are Duncan designed – so you get the best of both worlds with this guitar.
